Rhoslyn Jones, soprano

Adler Fellow Rhoslyn Jones made her San Francisco Opera debut as Frasquita in Carmen. A native of Aldergrove, British Columbia, Jones participated in the 2004 and 2005 seasons of the Merola Opera Program where she was heard as Norina (Don Pasquale) and in scenes from Jenůfa in concert at Yerba Buena Gardens. While at the Curtis Institute of Music, the soprano performed Morgana (Alcina)and Despina (Così fan tutte).At the University of British Columbia she performed the title roles of Manon, The Merry Widow, and The Bartered Bride. Jones was most recently heard as Zerlina (Don Giovanni) with Napa Valley’s Lincoln Theaterand as Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress) with West Bay Opera. Concert appearances include Mozart’s Requiem with Vancouver Island Symphony and Handel’s Messiah with Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. She was a regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and won first prize in the 2004 CBC Debut Competition. Jones will appear in the title role of Arizona Opera’s 2007 production of Susannah.
