Join us as we open a new chapter in our long commitment to making the beauty of music and the power of community available to everyone.
After a 14-month search, APSC is pleased to announce that Norman Gamboa has been named our new music director. Born and raised in Costa Rica, Maestro Gamboa is a passionate champion of community orchestras and the special role they play in local cultural life. He has conducted orchestras large and small around the world, from Latin America to Eastern Europe.
This season, the orchestra moves to its historic new home, the Santa Rosa High School Performing Arts Auditorium in Santa Rosa. Built in 1924, this architectural gem was completely renovated and restored in 2003. The 900-seat auditorium is regarded as one of the most acoustically perfect concert halls in the North Bay.
We're delighted to announce that the orchestra will once again offer Saturday evening and Sunday matinee performances this season. And what a season it is! Four exciting programs bring together beloved classical masterworks and less familiar orchestral pieces that will enchant and inspire.
